A Touch of Poetry
These are a collection of poems by a gurubandhu named Geoff Dawson.
ODE TO THE PARTING
With boundless affection
I remember the connection
Of the one I met in Shirdi
In his arms I learnt to share
Something exceedingly rare
I miss the frown, I miss the smile
I miss the everlasting while
Who would have thought
It would be so short
Thought you would always be there
And maybe that will be
I do miss ye
(Written after Guruji’s Mahasamadhi)
ELEGANCE OF BEING
I hear the voice
I see the pictures
Tales are recounted
But no numbers can convey
That sense of bewilderment in
The undeniable elegance of being
That ineffable presence
Which consumes and absorbs
Who we are
ALONE TOGETHER
I knew you once
I hear you say
In silence we remember the day
Still as the windless trees
Time forgotten
Breathe again as we did before
We stand alone - together once more
